A Wellington masonry crew that explains before it fixes

Most of our calls come from homeowners in Wellington and the cities around it who've spotted a crack, or who have a wall, driveway or walkway in mind. We're best known for careful repair work, and I'd rather explain something twice than have you guess about your own masonry. There's more on how we got started and how we work.

About our business

I started Quality Wellington Concrete and Masonry in Wellington in 2020. Before I ever picked up a trowel, I ran the schedule for a busy building company, then learned the trade working alongside the crews I used to plan for. Palm Beach County expects its contractors to be certified and insured, and we're licensed and insured and glad to show you both before you sign.

Masonry contractor services in Wellington, FL

Quality Wellington Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor in Wellington, FL, with 16 services that run from fixing one cracked brick to building a new wall. Most people call us because something has started to crack, lean or crumble, or because they want a driveway, walkway or outdoor kitchen built on a solid base. The price usually comes down to how much has really failed, the brick, block, stone or pavers you choose and how hard the spot is to reach. The schedule turns on the size of the job and what we find once it's open. You get your own figure at the estimate.

  1. Two-story brick and stone house with a landscaped front lawn, flower beds, and a broad tiled patio.

    Foundation repair

Cracks running through your foundation or a slab that's settling? We find what's moving it, then repair the block or concrete so the wall above sits on something solid.

  2. Brick chimney rising beside a vivid blue house with green trim under a bright sky.

    Chimney repair

We repair loose brick, worn joints and the cracked concrete cap on top for homeowners whose chimney is shedding pieces or letting water in.

  3. Curved driveway paved with light gray and beige pavers leading to a large home, with grass and flower beds alongside.

    Tuckpointing

Tuckpointing is grinding out tired mortar and refilling the joints, finished with a thin contrasting line so they read crisp. It suits sound brick whose joints have worn.

  4. Warm-toned brick paver driveway in front of a stucco home, bordered by lawn and tropical landscaping.

    Brick repair

Cracked, chipped or loose brick? We cut out only the damaged ones and set matched replacements, so you're not paying to redo a wall that's mostly fine.

  5. A light-colored paver driveway and walkway with curved borders extends alongside a blue-shingled house and landscaped garden.

    Driveway pavers

We lay paver driveways on a packed, graded base with edging that holds them in line. If a paver cracks later, it lifts out and gets replaced.

  6. A curved stone retaining wall borders a backyard patio with a fire bowl, seating, dining table, and flower beds.

    Retaining wall construction

Want a raised bed or level terrace in your yard? We build block retaining walls with drainage behind them, because trapped water pushes walls over.

  7. Wide driveway of mixed beige and gray pavers in front of a home with dark garage doors.

    Masonry restoration

Brick, block or stone that's stained, crumbling in spots or badly patched gets cleaned, repaired and given fresh mortar where it needs it, and left alone where it doesn't.

  8. A round stone fire pit with stacked wood sits on a broad paved patio beside a lawn.

    Fireplace installation

We build masonry fireplaces in brick or stone, from the firebox, the lined box the fire burns in, out to the face and hearth you see.

  9. Curved gravel walkway bordered by pale stone edging, shrubs, and a wooden privacy fence.

    Stone veneer installation

Stone veneer is a thin face of real or cast stone set over a wall, giving a front, column or fireplace the look of stone without the weight.

  10. Gray concrete block retaining walls frame a short stairway with broad stone treads.

    Concrete block walls

We build concrete block walls for privacy, property lines and garden borders, with steel bar and concrete filling the hollow cores where the wall needs strength.

  11. Irregular stone-paver walkway curves beside a house, bordered by a low stone wall and garden plants.

    Foundation block wall installation

Building an addition, garage or new structure? We lay the block foundation walls it sits on, checking level and square as each row goes up.

  12. Light gray square-tile walkway runs beside a blue swimming pool.

    Outdoor kitchen masonry

An outdoor kitchen starts with masonry, so we build the block base, counters and brick or stone finish, sizing the openings for your grill before anything sets.

  13. Large gray stone patio beside a white brick outdoor fireplace, with lounge chairs and a wooded garden behind it.

    Walkway construction

Pavers, brick or poured concrete? We build walkways in all three, sloped just enough that rain runs off instead of pooling by your door.

  14. Brick entryway with an arched portico, double doors, and landscaped flower beds.

    Brick wall installation

A new brick wall should look like it belongs with your house, so we pick brick and mortar color with you before laying garden, entry or privacy walls.

  15. Brick masonry frames a recessed front entry beneath a broad arched brick lintel on a house.

    Stone masonry

Stone masonry means walls, steps, columns and borders built from natural stone, laid by hand for homeowners who want a heavier look than block or brick gives.

  16. Wide gray paver steps with built-in lights lead to a red front door between flowering shrubs.

    Brick pointing

Mortar crumbling out from between your bricks? Pointing replaces the worn joints with fresh mortar matched in color, and it's usually needed long before the brick itself.

What working with us looks like

Masonry trouble often looks worse than it is, and the right fix depends on what's causing it. Here's what you can count on from the first visit to the last cleanup.

  • Plain answers before you decide

We walk the job with you and explain what we see and why it's happening, in plain words. Ask as many questions as you like before you decide anything.

  • A clear plan for every job

I spent years running schedules for a building company before I ran a crew, so your job runs on a clear plan. You'll know what's happening and what comes next.

  • Only the repairs your home needs

If three bricks are loose, we replace three bricks and leave the sound ones where they are. You pay for the work your home needs, not a bigger job you were talked into.

  • The owner writes your estimate

I come out myself to look at the job and write your estimate, and our crew does the work. Call (561) 268-0510 to set a time.

Curved tan brick retaining walls and steps frame a paved garden courtyard with palm trees and tropical plants.

Find the cause first, then fix it

A crack in a wall or a joint that's crumbling out is usually a sign of something else, like water getting in, ground that's shifted or mortar that's simply worn out. We look for the cause before we touch anything, because a patch over a problem that's still there tends to open back up.

The trade-off we talk through most is patching a section versus rebuilding it. We lean toward repair, matching the brick and mortar color so the fix blends in, and when a section is too far gone to hold, I'll tell you that plainly instead of patching it for show. Either way, our crew keeps the site tidy and cleans up before we leave.
